1. I understand that Second Chance Birds is dedicated to helping make birds happier, healthier and as fulfilled as possible when living in captivity.

2. I understand that Second Chance Birds is dedicated to educating the public to the true plight of captive parrots, cockatoos and other species of birds. SCB is here to tell the whole truth, not just the happy stories.

3. I understand that Second Chance Birds is dedicated to the practice of adoption and education and that the website is anti-breeding and anti-buying from pet stores and breeders.

4. I understand that Second Chance Birds and its members will NOT cast judgment on me if I have already bought a bird because the fact that adoption is available was unknown to me.

5. I understand that I may ask questions about anti-buying/breeding but must do so respectfully and w/o malice so that I may further my understanding of the philosophy of Second Chance Birds.

6. I understand that some topics can become heated, but I will conduct myself in an adult manner. I understand that name-calling and extremely vile language will not be tolerated and is just cause for immediate banning.

7. I understand that there are no experts in the field of avian behavior and only  licensed veterinarians are experts in the field of medicine. I acknowledge that  the advice I am given is from other people's experience, and do not hold Second Chance Birds responsible.

8.  I understand that because my bird's life depends on me and my actions, I will immediately contact my avian vet in case of a medical emergency rather than posting the emergency on the board and waiting for advice. (If you do not yet have an Avian Vet there is a list located on the message board to help you find one.)

9. I understand that the message board is "rated NR-17" and not a "PG-13" board so mild adult language may be used.

10. I understand that by posting on the message board or submitting an article to the e-zine that, [b]"I grant this writing to the domain Second Chance Birds" [/b] and it is from that point copyrighted to Second Chance Birds. Copyright is then held jointly by Second Chance Birds and myself as the posting author. I further agree that I may not copy in any form (cross-post, e-mail, excerpts, etc.) any materials not written by me without the permission of the original author (poster) and Second Chance Birds.
